Mehring, Micah
Micah Mehring, 20, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Friends may call two hours before the service, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his loving family, Wilma and Dan Rodgers of Cedar Rapids, Leon (Christine) Mehring-Cruz of Guam and Seth Mehring of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Leon and Vera Mehring of Cedar Rapids and Joanne Rodgers of Fairfield; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his special cat companion, Angel.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Mehring; infant brother, Joshua Mehring; and grandparents, Bill and Maryellen Arruda.
Micah Mehring was born June 11, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, the beloved son of Wilma Rodgers and the late James Mehring. Micah enjoyed his Xbox 360, movies and spending time with his brother (Seth) and friends. But Micah's true passion was all the great times spent with his family.
Micah was a loving and caring son, brother, nephew and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank all the physicians and staff from Mercy Medical Center for going above and beyond in caring for Micah.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Arc of East Central Iowa.
