Mehaffey, Charles Robert
Charles Robert Mehaffey was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on June 29, 1930, and died in Dripping Springs, TX, Jan. 29, 2011. In discussing his obituary, here is what he said, “No list of what I did, only who I was.” And this is it.
Chuck was a loving and enthusiastic participant in the lives of too many to count. He and his wife, Pat, made the ideal partnership. (“She is the love of my life, I want that in.”) He was a proud and devoted dad to Robin Rieke, Mike Mehaffey (deceased), Patrick Mehaffey, Dan Mehaffey and their spouses; he was “Papa” to his grandchildren, Day Bobinchuck, Christina Maresh, Michael Barnes, Devin Mehaffey, Dan Mehaffey, Erin Mehaffey, and Charles Mehaffey, and to his great-grandchildren, Ryer Barnes, Samual Maresh, Jewel Barnes, Charli Bobinchuck, and Kate Mehaffey. He was a wonderful son, brother and Uncle Charlie. He was a caring and compassionate pastor to many and friend to many more. But he was a warrior when the issue was justice. The world will miss him.
A memorial service will be held in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
