Meggers, Verle E.
Verle E. Meggers, 90, of Independence, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at his home in Independence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with the Rev. Harry Wach officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Verle is survived by three children, Edward Meggers of McGregor, Curtis Meggers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Verla Kay Howery of Enid, Okla.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elva Prenosil and Pat Axline, both of Independence.
