Megan N. Medinger, 35, of Eldridge, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, from complications of metastatic osteosarcoma.
A rite to life will be held at the Church of Visitation in Camanche on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Megan was born May 4, 1982, in Clinton, daughter of Douglas and Nellie Medinger. She graduated from Camanche High School in 2000. She continued her education at Loras College in Dubuque, where she received her B.S. degree in biochemistry, and then to the University of Iowa, where she completed her PharmD. Megan worked for CVS Pharmacy in Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. In Megan's free time, she enjoyed traveling and supporting her Hawkeyes and Cubbies.
Survivors include her father, Douglas Medinger, and mother, Nellie Medinger; two sisters, Rachael and Shawna Medinger; niece Chealsa Andersen; aunts and uncles, Suzanne (Larry) Rubel, Gibby Rich, Jeff (Jean) Medinger, Terry (Brenda) Medinger, Greg Medinger and Beth (Tim) Doyle; three godchildren and adopted family, Mama (Jane) Clark and Christine (Mike) Clark.
She was preceded in death by her godmother, Sue Mayland; grandparents, Alvin and Evelyn Medinger, and Everett and Greta Rich; sister, Heather Medinger; aunt, Velma Rich; and uncle, Mickey Rich.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where Megan received her cancer treatments.
