Mechele L. Horak, 48, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Family will greet friends and family an hour prior to service at the church. The Rev. Jeff Frohner will be officiating. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the church. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Mechele was born July 26, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Craig and Danielle (Harford) Horak. She was a 1991 graduate of Linn-Mar High School in Marion. Mechele worked in the cell phone industry, most recently T-Mobile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mechele is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Cole Meredith of Marion; parents, Craig and Danielle Horak of Marion; brother, Tim (Josefina) Horak of Outer Banks, N.C.; four nieces, Brenda, Karen, Ionoah and Alexa; four great-nieces and nephews; maternal grandmother, Suzanne Campbell of Marion; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Virgil and Ardis Horak; maternal grandfather, Ken Harford; and maternal step-grandparents, Kenny Campbell and Barb Harford.
Memorials in Mechele's memory may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
