Ann was born April 25,1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Edvin and Erma Hanzlik. She faced every hardship with courage and overcame all obstacles with her faith and integrity. There was nothing Ann loved more than spending time with family, she always put her family first and foremost. Everyone who knew Ann, would say she was never afraid to say what was on her mind. She was an honest person and worked very hard for what she had. When she became diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2011, her faith was not tested. With the severity of the cancer, not once did she let it get her down. Knowing the outcome, her will remained strong. Instead of seeing the disappointment, she saw each day as a blessing. Family and friends who were by her side throughout the seven months, were not only inspired but learned a very important life lesson; don't take life for granted, live everyday to the fullest, because tomorrow's never promised.
Our family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospice staff, Susan, Jeremy, Lori and Pauline for all their dedication to our mom and all the knowledge for us to be the best caregivers for her as possible, we couldn't have made it through this without each one of you. You all were a blessing to our family and our mom enjoyed seeing each one of you every week.
