McNeill, Maxine K.
Maxine K. McNeill, 89, of 193 Jacolyn Dr. NW, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include four daughters, Dianne (Larry) Wagner of Danville, Calif., Barb (Fran) Henderson of Robins, Marcia Kelly of Marshalltown and Theresa (Patrick) Needham of Aurora, Ill.; two sons, James McNeill and his partner, Kent, of Cedar Rapids and Rick (Linda) Clarkson of Oro Valley, Ariz. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Fred; one brother and three sisters.
Maxine was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Green Island, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Bertha Klemme Jones. She married Fred Clarkson in 1940 in Muscatine. He died in 1958. She later married James McNeill in 1959 in Cedar Rapids. Maxine was a beautician at Killian's for several years and later retired from Rockwell-Collins. She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially the time she spent with her friends and beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established in Maxine's name.
