McNabb, Michele C.
Michele C. McNabb, 67, of 4530 Ford Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 23, 2010, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John Louk from Salem United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, David Henry McNabb; her son, David E. McNabb (Evonne) of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Kathryn Miner (Carroll) and Elizabeth Gates, all of Belle Plaine; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Carney of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Dawn McNabb of Tacoma, Wash., Tiffany McNabb, Tory Youker and Dillon McNabb, all of Cedar Rapids; her great-grandchildren, Karmyn, Madilyn and Ava; and her nephews, David, Glenn, Tim and Bob.
Michele was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Lawrence and Lyda Bennett Hoover. She married David Henry McNabb on March 5, 1966, in Belle Plaine. Michele retired from the Square D. Company after 41 years of service. She loved to bowl and took her grandchildren every Saturday to bowl for over 20 years. She was a very devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her family was very important to her. Michele was a friend to everyone she met and was always helping people in need. She enjoyed collecting teddy bears and baskets. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy as well as the caring staff who provided cancer treatment at both Mercy and St. Luke's Hospitals.
