Joy is survived by her parents, Norman and Sharon McMurrin; two grandchildren, Nicholas McMurrin and Cristara McMurrin of Independence; and one brother, Greg McMurrin of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amber McMurrin in August 2010; and two brothers, Rick in 2007 and Kevin in infancy.
When Joy's beautiful, fierce heart stopped beating she was at home, with her loving parents at her side. Thanks to tremendous support from her many loyal family members and friends Joy was able to meet death with beauty, grace and dignity.
The McMurrin family would like to express truly heartfelt gratitude to the army of angels from Cedar Valley Hospice for their constant support and encouragement.
Joy chose cremation for her remains and requested family and friends join and support her parents at a Celebration of Life on Nov. 6 at Hook ‘n' Liner Club in Littleton, 1 to 6 p.m.
