McMurrin, Irvin Lewis
The Lord summoned Irvin Lewis McMurrin home on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, after suffering a severe stroke.
He was born May 24, 1930, to Clara Stumph and Elvin McMurrin.
He had four brothers and two sisters. On Feb. 10, 1952, he married the love of his life, Nadine Wright, and they had two children, Marcia Maureen of Springfield, Va., and Ramona Ruth Cummins (Tom) of Anamosa.
He had three precious grandchildren, Solomon David, Caleb Thomas and Abigail Ruth Cummins, whom he dearly loved.
He served his country in the U.S. Army 8th Division in the military police in Salsburg, Austria.
He had been retired for 23 years from Rockwell Goss and Collins Radio.
He was a carpenter and a very talented man.
He and Nadine had been married for 62 1/2 years. He loved to fox and coon hunt and loved all the friends that he made.
He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Anamosa.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to his church mission would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Anamosa, just off Highway 151 at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Pastor Don Jackson will officiate. Cremation handled by Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon.
