McLain, Shirley Joan

Shirley Joan McLain, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at her home after a long illness with cancer. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Kasch of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family after noon Friday at the funeral home.

Shirley is survived by four children, Steven (Shirley) Randall of Cocoa, Fla., Penny Randall of Marion, Dee (April) Vinton of Vinton and Cindy (Roland) Burns of Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl and John; and daughter, Rebecca.

Shirley was born on June 3, 1936, in Canisville, Mo., the daughter of Herbert and Oma (Willis) McLain. She worked at Randall's Carpet Cleaning where her duties included cleaning and painting.

Shirley enjoyed reading and doing word searches and she loved spending time with her family.
