McKillip, Helen (McGaffic)
Helen (McGaffic) McKillip, 82, of Anamosa, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at her home. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Springville Cemetery, Springville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Anamosa United Methodist Church, Anamosa. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her sons, Greg McGaffic of Cedar Rapids, John McGaffic of Royse City, Texas and Jim McGaffic of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit McKillip; daughter, Amy McGaffic Randall; her parents; and siblings, Robert Clement, Corrine Rho and Eleanor.
Helen was born April 2, 1931, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Roscoe and Naomi (Armstrong) Clements. She graduated from New Castle High School. Helen married Kermit McKillip on Dec. 29, 1984, in Springville, Iowa. She was the head cook at Springville High School, as well as an excellent homemaker. Helen enjoyed playing bridge, golf, reading mystery novels, working crossword puzzles and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Anamosa United Methodist Church and the Martha Church Circle.
