McKeague, Mary C. Sullivan
Mary C. Sullivan McKeague, 75, died at home on Dec. 23, 2009. Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Saturday. A meeting and greeting visitation at 9:30 a.m. and prayer service at 10:30 a.m. will be held at Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Church off Mill Creek Parkway in Clinton. She deeded her body to the University of Iowa Medical School.
Mary was born on the prairies of Bureau County, Ill., to J. Ray and Catherine Brady Sullivan on Oct. 18, 1934. She graduated from Sheffield High School in Illinois and received degrees at Marycrest College in Davenport and the University of Iowa. She was grateful to have been a member of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary for 20 years and cherished her relationship with them. Mary taught music in parochial and public schools, mostly in Iowa, and at Pine Knoll in Davenport.
Her family members include her sister, Sue (Bob) McEnroe of Aurora, Ill.; Michael Sullivan, Bridget, Nan and Patty Sullivan; and Maureen (Daniel) Sullivan St. John of Irvine, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fr. Jim Sullivan, CSC, of the University of Notre Dame in 1971, and Ray J. Sullivan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1989.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish or to Project Renewal in Davenport.
The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
