McIntyre, Edward C.
TOLEDO - Edward C. McIntyre, 98, of Greenfield, formerly of Toledo, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his home. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, with memorial tribute given by Don Jacobi of Traer. Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Edward Jr. of Gladstone, Mo.; grandson, Jeff of San Diego, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Norma Winders of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Winders); four sisters, Edna, Mable, Clara and Berniece; and two brothers, Alvin and Elmer McIntyre.
Edward was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Van Horne, Iowa, to Edward and Wilemina (Seeman) McIntyre. He was raised in Van Horne, Vinton and Toledo, Iowa. One of Edward's first jobs was as secretary to Justice Carl B. Stiger, a member of the Supreme Court of Iowa. He later became office manager for Joslyn Manufacturing Co. in Tama. After retirement he and his wife Helen lived in Greenfield.
