McGuire, Patricia Marie
Patricia Marie McGuire
1301 O Ave. NE
9/8/1921 - 5/3/2012
We celebrate the amazing and admirable life of Patricia Marie McGuire, who peacefully passed with herfamily at her side. Ninety years ago, Patricia was born in Holbrook, Iowa and proved to be a fine, hearty Irish farm girl with a warm and generous heart. Her parents, husband, three sisters, three daughters, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and hundreds of friends throughout her life were truly blessed by her special soul.
Pat wholeheartedly believed in unconditional love, the awesome power of laughter, the brilliance of quick wit, the merit of hard work, the grace of God and wealth measured by happiness.
Her vibrant personality filled every room, made instant friends even with strangers, and left an indelible impression on those who had the privilege of knowing her well. May Pat's spirit eternally guide our hearts and remind us to live every day with compassion, faith, charisma and a zest for adventure.
Pat's adoring family includes three daughters, Julie Parrott, Mary Shaw (David) and Rose McGuire; four grandchildren, Tris Curtis Wheeler (Mark), Jamie Curtis (Denton Warne), Jenny Seevell (Tom) and Adam Parrott; and four great-grandchildren, Shea and Kaden Wheeler and Taylar and Dallas Seevell.
Her extended family and friends are amorous and infinite.
Please join us in heralding Patty McGuire's life and legacy on May 26 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Cedar Rapids. Pastor Podhajsky will preside over the Holy rosary at 9:30 a.m., Mass service at 10 a.m. and a celebratory luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Patricia's fondness of animals, a donation may be made to the CedarValley Human Society, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403, an organization that finds happy homes for homeless pets.
Until we meet again, Erin Go Braugh, our beloved Patty Marie McGuire. Your spirit lives on indefinitely.
