McFarlane, Louise (Porter) Fields
Louise (Porter) Fields McFarlane, 94, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Halcyon House following a lengthy illness. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 Friday evening. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Day Lounge of Halcyon House. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
She is survived by her son, Gene Fields and wife Lois of Riverside; daughter, Nancy Welch and husband Ted of Wascott, Wis.; son, John Fields and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepson, Rob McFarlane and wife Marty of Iowa City; stepdaughter, Paula Stocks of Richland, Iowa; five stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Betty Porter of Washington, Iowa and Phyllis Porter of Amarillo, Texas.
Memorials have been established for the Halcyon House Library or Hospice Compassus of Cedar Rapids.
