McCusker, Cathy
Cathy McCusker, 55, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at her parent's home. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Jim Berger. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents, William and Norma McCusker of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Mike (Michelle) of Cedar Rapids, Tim (Janice) of Minneapolis and John (Shary) of Cedar Rapids; six nephews, Brian, Derek, Trevor, Drew, Kyle and Payne; two nieces, Shayla and Aubrey; and a special aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Jerry Britt of Waterloo.
Cathy was born May 27, 1954, in Oakland, Calif. She graduated from Regis High School in 1972. For all of her adult life, Cathy fought courageously against the relentless and dimly understood condition of severe mental illness. Cathy will be remembered as a generous, warm, and compassionate person who cherished her nieces and nephews.
