McCreedy, Betty G.
Betty G. McCreedy, 87, longtime resident of Iowa City, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Private family services are planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Betty's memory for the City High Marching Band, c/o Iowa City High School.

Betty was born Feb. 25, 1926, her family moved to Iowa City where she attended Iowa City Schools, graduating from City High School in 1943. She married Charles E. “Chick” McCreedy on Aug. 29, 1948, in Nashua, Iowa. Chick died in 2004.
Her family includes her two sons, Mike McCreedy and his wife, Julie of Iowa City and Russ McCreedy of Iowa City; and her two grandsons, Eric and Tyler McCreedy.
In addition to her husband, Chick; a brother, Leo Washburn; and sister, Shirley Washburn, died earlier.
