Naomi Lettice McCormick

Age 86, entered into rest, at the Hospice with a Heart House in Glenwood, Iowa, after living with her daughter, Etta Gilchrist since December 2009. Other than that, Naomi was a lifelong resident of Urbana. She married Clarence Fee (Shorty) in 1941. This marriage was blessed with three children, Philip, Mary and James. They were divorced in 1955. In 1958, Naomi married Hubert S. McCormick and was blessed with a daughter, Etta. Hubert died in June 1959. Naomi stayed busy raising her four children as a single mother, working full time at Rockwell International where she retired in December 1983, after a long and successful career of 31 years as an instructor. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Urbana, where she was involved with the CWF. Also, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Naomi was preceded in death by her father, Rush Cumberland; mother, Gracia (Curless) Cumberland; sister, Betty Marshall; brother, Philip Cumberland; and husbands, Clarence Fee and Hubert S. McCormick.
She is survived by her children, Philip (Kay) Fee of Smyrna Tenn., Mary (Virgil) Martensen of Anamosa, James (Jeannie) Fee of Urbana, and Etta (Jim) Gilchrist of Glenwood; grandchildren, Gregory Fee and Deborah Adams, Karla Stewart, Tammie Chasteen, Kristine Jacobsmeier and Shane Martensen, Christopher Fee and Matthew Fee, Daniel Gilchrist, Maggie Cullen, Kevin Gilchrist and Nathan Gilchrist; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Cumberland; three nieces; and many other cousins.
Celebration of life will be at the First Christian Church in Urbana, at 11 a.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, and CWF of the First Christian Church in Urbana.
