McClure, R. Glendolyn
R. Glendolyn McClure, 89, of 6319 30th Ave. Dr., Shellsburg, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her daughter's Shellsburg home after a short illness. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Homey.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Ursula) of Killeen, Texas, Bonita (Duane) Werning of Shellsburg, Dennis (Judy) of Center Point, and Patricia (Phillip) Winkler of Marion.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Glendolyn was born on Nov. 3, 1920, in Corning, Kan., the daughter of Samuel and Ruea Schoonover Meek. She married Monte H. McClure on Dec. 25, 1938 in Leon. He died in 1977. Glendolyn worked at Rockwell-Goss for over 17 years, retiring in 1982. She was a faithful member of Grace Brethren Church since 1964, All Church Singles Club, Republican Women, the Christian Women's Association as well as volunteering at St. Luke's Hospital and Ushers Ferry.
Memorial donations may be given to Grace Brethren Church.
Mom was known for her love of God, grandchildren, dogs, flowers, travel and politics. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by her friends and beloved family.
