McClelland, Arlene N.
Arlene N. McClelland, 75, a resident of Keystone Cedars, died there Wednesday, April 17, 2013, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include three daughters, Nadine (Michael) Hackbarth and Brenda (David) Hack, both of Cedar Rapids, and Lori (Brian) Hilzendager of Robins; a son, Bob (Patti McDonald) of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Brenda (Bob) Clayton and Nada (Stanley) Theriault, both of Washburn, Maine; two brothers, Rosvil “Cubby” (Pat) Brown of Sun City, Ariz., and Robert (Sabine) Brown of Italy; 13 grandchildren, Sheena, Jeffrey, April, Kimberly, Rudy, Laura, Chad, Chelsey, Casey, Joshua, Lauren, Michael and Jonathan; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Darren and Audrey.
Arlene was born May 20, 1937, in Washburn, Maine, the daughter of Melvin and Faye (Scott) Brown. She married Robert C. McClelland on Oct. 4, 1954, in Washburn. He died in 2006. Arlene worked at Cryovac and retired from there after more than 34 years of service.
Arlene was a faithful member of the Ely Presbyterian Church, where she was active in many church groups, soup suppers and Bible school. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Atkins. She enjoyed sewing, baking, canning, dancing, reading, traveling, and roller skating.
Arlene was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
