McClellan, Georgia
TIPTON - Funeral services for Georgia McClellan, 76, of Tipton, who died Oct. 21, 2010, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Paul Frederiksen officiating. Visitation will take place Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton.
Georgia Spencer McClellan, daughter of Kermit Roosevelt and Marion Fowlie Spencer, was born Nov. 15, 1933, at Mercy Hospital in Anamosa, Iowa. She was a 1951 graduate of Tipton High School. Following high school Georgia attended Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. She later worked as a receptionist at Link Belt Speeder and in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Georgia married Kenneth KcClellan on Nov. 5, 1973. Georgia was a very active member of the Methodist Church in Tipton. She taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the UMW. Georgia was active in the Senior Center and was involved with Farm Bureau Women, Kings Daughters, Rebekah Lodge, Tipton Woman's Club and DAR.
Georgia enjoyed collecting spoons, glass and china dogs. She liked fishing, crosswords, and playing Bingo. Georgia was also an Amway dealer for several years.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth in 1984.
A general memorial fund has been established in memory of Georgia.
