McCann, Anlah 'Ann'
Anlah “Ann” McCann, 88, of Shellsburg, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the Rock Ridge Residential Care Center in Shellsburg. Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave., Vinton. Officiating: Pastor Connie Wacht. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday at the Family Center. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg.
“Ann” was born Aug. 8, 1925, the daughter of Ezra and Oma (Phelps) Huntley in Sheraton, Iowa. She was united in marriage to M.W. “Bud” McCann on Oct. 21, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. “Ann” worked side-by-side her husband of nearly 66 years on the farm. She was always busy farming, cooking, canning and spending time with her family. “Ann” dearly loved spending time with her grandson and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed going to her grandson's basketball games.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, M.W. “Bud” McCann of Shellsburg; her daughter, Carol (Tony Baker) Overbey of Cedar Rapids; her grandson, Charles (Kelly) Overbey of Urbana; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph Overbey of Urbana, Jessica (Cody) Randall of Shellsburg and Jayson and Jordan Overbey, both of Urbana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
