McAllister, Marlene
Marlene McAllister, 64, of West Branch, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
Marlene was born April 19, 1948, in Des Moines. She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa. She worked at Mercy Iowa City for 31 years as a clerk in the Maternal Child unit.
She was a very caring and giving person. She always thought of everyone else before herself. She had a love for reading and music. Marlene had a love for all her cats. She had three special cats that she loved dearly, Mocha, Sadie and Chuck.
Survivors include Tom Johnson, her longtime mate; her four special friends, Danielle Holbrook, Joan McWilliams, Dora Stoolman and Jay Joslyn; and her eight cats.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and many beloved cats throughout her lifetime.
