Maynard Saylor, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell, Iowa. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Dodds officiating. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his daughter, Patti Nelson and husband Roger of Montezuma; grandchildren, Tammy Nelson of Tiffin, Eric Nelson of Brooklyn and Sheri Sharer (Bart) of Montezuma; three great-grandchildren, Kane, Jadyn and Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold "Bud" and Fern Mowrey Saylor; his wife, Marcella in 2008; and two brothers, Pat Saylor and Bob Saylor.
