Maymie Ruth Luers, 88, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Parkview Nursing Home in Wellman. Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Marion Avenue Baptist
Church in Washington, with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Visitation will begin 3 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday. Interment will take place at Yankee Point Cemetery, rural North English.
A memorial has been established for the Marion Avenue Baptist Church Mission Programs.

Maymie is survived by her husband, Dean W. Luers of Washington; five sons, Dale E. (Jennifer) Garringer of Busan, South Korea, Laurance D. (Evelyn) Garringer of Osceola, Mo., Joseph L. Garringer of Iowa City, Glenn H. (Janet) Garringer of Farmington and Benton L. (Quembee) Garringer of Marshalltown; daughter, Teresa R. Garringer and fiance Dan of Muscatine; stepchildren, Eldon W. (Sue) Luers of Elizabeth, Colo., and Shirley A. (Ronald) Nebel of Washington; many grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Bill Burkett of Coralville; sister, Lucille Hamby of Greenville, S.C.; sister, Betty Veenker of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews.
