MAYCEL ARLENE FINKLE
Cedar Rapids
Maycel Arlene Finkle, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully May 12, 2016, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, with family at her side.
Maycel was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Wyoming, lowa, daughter of Archie and Grace (Millsap) Vargason. She graduated from Wyoming High School. She worked at Wyoming Telephone Exchange, Cedar Rapids Wilson Meats and retired from Rockwell Collins as a procedure writer.
She is survived by husband, Wesley; daughters, Judy (Bob) Houlahan, Penny Coleman of Cedar Rapids and Becky (Duane) Sytsma of North Liberty; five grandchildren, Sean, Eric, Amy, James and Nathan; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Caden, Ivy, Jessica, Cameron, Mason, Nina, Trent, Makayla and Jordy (and new baby girl coming in June).
Maycel enjoyed crafts, boating, RVing, travel, board games and playing cards with family and friends (a very worthy opponent). She also took great pleasure in playing and being with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peg Williams; son-in-law, John Coleman; and grandson-in-law, Dan Smith.
Our sincere and grateful thanks to the hard-working staff at Northbrook Manor Care Center and to the gentle caring of the angels of St. Luke's UnityPoint Hospice.
A private family service is planned.
