Maxine H. Benzine, 90, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at her home. No services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Maxine was born March 23, 1932, in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Buenzow) Bierie. She graduated from Oran High School, Oran, Iowa. Maxine married William H. Benzine and worked in finance as a bookkeeper/treasurer until her retirement in 1985. Maxine loved tending to her garden, camping and crafting. She loved being active in numerous activities and traveling over the years. Maxine will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughters, Kristie Benzine (Mark Jacobs) and Jennifer (Jesse) Arellano; grandson, Dominic Benzine-Arellano; bonus grandchildren, Shannon, Chelsea, Dylan, Maddox, Brex, and Knox; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida Bierie; Aunt Anna Bailey; husband, William; brothers, Paul Bierie and John Bailey; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
