Maxine O. Conrad, of Williamsburg, formerly of Keota, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Highland Ridge Retirement Community in Williamsburg at the age of 97 years.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keota. Father Charles Fladung will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.

Maxine Conrad was born Dec. 3, 1919, near What Cheer, Iowa, the daughter of Lew and Amy (Elliott) Miller. She attended What Cheer High School. She worked as a dental assistant in What Cheer for a few years and also worked as an usher at the Opera House. Maxine was united in marriage to Maurice G. Conrad on Aug. 2, 1942, in Cheyenne, Wyo. They made their home in the Keota area. Maxine was a clerk for Conrad Sales for many years. She enjoyed wintering in Texas for 20 years, spending time with her family, playing cards and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keota.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacquelyn (Jared) Powell of Williamsburg and Ricque (Jim) Finucane of Bowdainham, Maine; five grandchilden, Kim (Kenton) Doehrmann, Shawn (Tonya) Powell, Shana Nelson, Bryna (Scott) Grouse and Kiera (Jesse) Reardon; 14
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Addison Powell; and three brothers, Leo, Max and Jim Miller.
