During his time in the service, he married Darlene Wilson on Aug. 1, 1953, in Omaha, Neb. After being honorably discharged, he then went to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Maurie began working for Rockwell Collins as an engineer and ended his career as an international marketing manager in 1992.
