Maureen (Moe) Patricia Foizey, nèe McKlusky, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 63. Maureen was a dedicated partner and mother of four. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memoires. Entombment to follow in the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Moe was born on April 11, 1960, in Staten Island, New York, to Ann and Joseph (Sonny) McKlusky. In the mid-1970’s, Sonny and Ann moved with Moe and her three siblings, Laurie, Kathy, and Michael, to West Palm Beach, Florida, where Moe would attend South Tech Preparatory school for Commercial Art and John I. Leonard High School, graduating from the latter in 1978. After graduation, she married Scott Foizey, with whom she would have four brilliant children. Although their marriage would eventually end, the family of 6 would remain close, regularly attending holiday gatherings, weddings, concerts, and family reunions together.
Maureen went on to meet Ken McCracken in 1998 and the two would share 25 happy years together before her eventual passing. Never desiring to be the center of attention, Moe was a selfless, empathetic, quiet, compassionate person, whose tough “New Yorker” attitude never completely disappeared. Her wardrobe, home decor and personality were vibrant, colorful and begged for peace. She was passionate about music, football, coffee, her pets, and her people - most specifically, her 14 grandchildren, in the company of whom she was always happiest.
She is survived by her partner, Ken; her four children, Justin (Laura); Lauren (Chris); Erin (Noah) and Ryan (Sammi); 14 grandchildren, Dakota (Lauren), Jacob, Emily, Natalie, Christian, Dani, Sunny, Sydney, Samantha, Clementine, Liam, Archie, Poppy, Sutton and one on the way, as well as one great-grandchild, Micah. We will all miss her silliness, her loyalty, and her hugs.
Moe was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Sonny; her sisters, Laurie and Kathy and a brother, Michael.
