Maureen Elizabeth Salat, 78, of Spearfish, S.D., passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the comfort of her own home on March 2, 2023.
Maureen was born to Oakley and Elizabeth Roe and raised in a large family in Norway, Iowa. She met and married the love-of-her life, Ronald Salat. For 59 years, they lived, loved and laughed together.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Salat; her two children, Todd (Shay) Salat and Valerie (Donald) Richards; and her two grandchildren, Natalie (Torrey) McLoughlin and Cole Richards. She’s also survived by her two sisters, Ellen (Mark) Kashino and Kathy Schmid; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Maureen was laid to rest during a private graveside service in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Norway, Iowa.
