Mattice, Gordon J.
Gordon J. Mattice, 89, of Manchester, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Marietta's Place in Manchester.
He was born Sept. 10, 1924, on the family farm in Richland Township near Dundee. Gordon was the son of Garold and Frances (Rath) Mattice. He attended Dundee Schools and graduated from Manchester High School in 1943. He farmed with his father on the farm south of Manchester in Prairie Township.
On Dec. 31, 1944, Gordon was united in marriage to Yvonne Haley in Independence. They farmed together until he retired in 1998 and they moved to Manchester.
Gordon loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Mattice of Manchester; two sons, M.J. Mattice and Harold (Sara) Mattice, both of Manchester; three grandchildren, Savannah (Nic) Yossi, Ellen Mattice and Garrett Mattice; and two great-grandchildren, Cohen Yossi and Ruxin Yossi.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Regina Mattice in 1975; and an infant son.

Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with the Rev. Mary Green officiating. Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
