Mattias “Matt” Fiser, 46, Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy retired passed away July 8, 2022, peacefully at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home, 4208 N Ankeny Blvd. A visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, also at the funeral home.
Matt retired with an honorable discharge in 2018 after serving 24 faithful years in the Navy as a Seabee Builder.
After retirement from the Navy, Matt began a second career with Childserve in Johnston as a maintenance worker.
Matt is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of Ankeny: son, Mattias II; parents, Daryl and Bette Fiser of Victor, Iowa; brother, Andrew Fiser of Durant, Iowa; sister, Katie Schultz (Ben) of Marion, Iowa; and nephews, Anthony Ward, Noah, Kinnick, Samuel and River.
