Matthew Sutton, 39, of Coralville, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2024 at his residence.
Matt was born on December 10, 1984 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City to Gary Sutton and Mary Willie. He graduated from West High School and attended Kirkwood Community College, majoring in business. After working in the restaurant industry for several years, Matt decided to take on a new venture. He created his own business where he excelled in collecting/trading memorabilia.
Matt enjoyed spending time with his friends and watching sports, specifically rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
Matt is survived by his mother, Mary Willie of Coralville as well as aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends. He is now reunited with his father and best friend, Gary; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Veronica Sutton; and maternal grandparents, Realto and Mabel Willie.
Please join in a gathering to celebrate and honor the lives of Gary and Matt Sutton from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Matt Sutton Memorial Fund.
