Matthew John Loftus, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at Iowa City Rehab and Healthcare Center. Matthew was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., the son of Mary Ann Loftus and John Douglas Loftus, on Oct. 10, 1966. No end of life preparations have been planned at this time.
Matthew graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Wendy Jean (Danielson) Kohl (Tod) in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 21, 1991. They had two beautiful daughters together, Koryssa Ann (Dalton) Weeks and Alexandria Lee Loftus. They were later divorced, but kept in close contact.
He leaves behind his brother, Michael Ward Loftus; his daughter, Alexandria Lee Loftus; and his granddaughter, Rhyan Elaine Weeks.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Loftus; his father, John Douglas Loftus; his brother, Mark Loftus; and his daughter, Koryssa Ann Loftus.
