Mastain, Beverly Jean
Beverly Jean Mastain, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with Dr. John McKinstry presiding. Burial will follow in First Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Ely. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Beverly was born Oct. 14, 1953, in Maquoketa, the daughter of Vincent and Leota Scott Risden. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972. After graduation she attended Kirkwood and received a certification as a pharmaceutical technician. She married David Austin Mastain on Feb. 14, 1986. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, reading, gardening and spending time with her family, cats and dogs.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Beverly is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Lisa (Michael Takes) Tapia; three grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin and Nicholas; her father, Vince (Sharon); sisters, Vickie (Steve) Matheny, Kris (Jason) Hayward and Alice (Chuck) Puetz; a brother, Mark (Crystal) Risden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Leota; and her brother, Kenneth.
