Mary C. Weaver, 93, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Goshen, Ind., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Cottage Grove Place. Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Goshen. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, is handling arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters, Donna (John) Grooms of Rochester, Ind., and Christine (Jim) Doty of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Vic McKibbin of Goshen; a sister, Norma Hilbish of Syracuse, Ind.; four grandchildren, Ryan Grooms of Rochester, Alicia (Jared) Ortner of Slater, Shawn (Grace) Grooms of Glendale Heights, Ill., and Amber Doty of Ames; a stepgranddaughter, Brandi (Jeff) Burns of Auburn, Ind.; three great-grandchildren, Eden, Jameson and Maren Ortner; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Cory Hillabrand and Amanda and Katey Burns, all of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1990; and her stepdaughter, Nancy, in May 2017.
Mary Catherine McKibbin was born July 31, 1924, to Abraham and Reta McKibbin at her grandparents' farm in Fish Lake, Ind. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1942 and worked at Studebaker in South Bend, Ind., through World War II. She married E. Paul Weaver Jr. at her parents' home in Goshen on July 2, 1955.
Mary was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church (formerly First English Lutheran Church) in Goshen. She moved to Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids in 2012 to be closer to her daughter.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Goshen.
