Mary Walton
MARY WALTON Marion Mary Jane Walton, of Marion, formerly of Troy Mills, died Monday, July 28, 2014. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Antioch Christian Church in Marion, by the Rev. John Seitz. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery. Survivors include two children, Craig (Carmen L. Reiger) Walton of Cedar Rapids and Lynne (Dennis Lickteig) Cassidy of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Chad Walton, Lindy (Justin) Fox, Shannon (Jon) McGraw, Cassie (Erik) Trask and Lauren Walton; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Lorraine Baty; two grandsons, Garet Walton and Christopher Chrystal; and a son-in-law, Curt Cassidy. Mary was born Jan. 11, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Dudley) Baty, in Troy Mills. She graduated from Troy Mills High School. On June 1, 1952, she married Keith E. Walton, they later divorced. Mary was the publisher of City Revealed Magazine for 10 years and previously CFO of Bob Zimmerman Ford. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church in Marion and various community organizations. Mary enjoyed traveling, boating, tennis, walking her dogs and spending time with her family and friends. A memorial fund has been established by the family.
