Mary Magdalene Wade, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visita-tion will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Mary was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Holbrook, the daughter of Michael and Margarete (Jones) Spratt. She was united in marriage to Clarence R. Wade on Sept. 2, 1950, in Holbrook. Mary worked at Wilson Avenue Hy-Vee Deli for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Clarence; three sons, Larry (Betty) Wade of Pleasant Plains, Ill., Kevin Wade (Anne Bretthauer) of Rockwell City and Gary (Lisa) Wade of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Christopher (Christine) Wade, Stacy (Chad) Louderman, Heather (James) Gibson, Brandon (Molly) Wade, Ryan (Jessica) Wade, Justin Wade, Gretchen (Ryan) Handly, Nathan (Stacy) Fett and Craig Fett; and great-grandchildren, Nora, Ben, Will Wade, Jack and Hudson Wade, Laney, Bryson and Grady Handly, Gwynneth, Allison and Nathan Wade, Riley, Wyatt and Grayson Louderman, Jade, Hayden, Dekota and Braydon Gibson and Isaac Fett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, John, Gerald, Mervin, Leon and Merle Spratt, Mami McCune, Agnus Ward, Claire Lillis and Helen Spratt; a grandson, Keaton Wade; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Wade.
