Mary Jean Taylor, 84, of the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home, formerly of Central City, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. Private family graveside service will take place Monday, Aug. 10, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Central City, conducted by Vicki Engelmann. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.
Survivors include her children, Lois Glage of Walford, Rick (Cheryl) Taylor of Central City and Sandra (Loras) Faber of Monticello; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Taylor; and her brothers, Tom and Dale Ahlrich.
Mary was born Nov. 22, 1930, to Jack and Bernice (Wolmutt) Ahlrich, in Monticello, Iowa. She married George A. Taylor on Jan. 27, 1949, in Monticello. She was a homemaker and later an Avon sales representative.
