Mary Ritzman, 61, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, with vigil at 4 p.m., at
Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, John; children, Emily Ritzman and Daniel
(Jessica Engbretson) Ritzman; grandchildren, Ethan and Kayson Ritzman and Austin, Jackson and Riley Damisch; siblings, Bonnie Spratte, Don (Judy) Spratte, Jim (Pam) Spratte and Dennis Spratte; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mary Luann was born on Jan. 9, 1957, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Emma (Sellers) Spratte. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood in 1975. On June 11, 1977, she married John Ritzman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. Mary was strong in her faith, listening to Catholic Radio religiously.
She was a dedicated employee of Evergreen Packaging for the last 42 years. Mary will be remembered as an avid reader and worker of solitaire and crossword puzzles. She loved gardening, especially for the butterflies and, most of all, her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Spratte; and niece, Darla Moander Spratte.
