Mary D. Pusateri, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha on Oct. 12, 2016, after a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Ivan Nienhaus will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, with a reception following at Immaculate Conception's Scotus Hall. There will be a visitation at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., and at the church after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Mary was the daughter of Frank and Frances (Scolaro) Pusateri. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception and in addition to working in the family grocery store, she worked 19 years at Kilbourn Photo Co., a short time with Mercy Home Care, and retired from Swiss Valley after 19 years.
Mary was a member of St. Margaret's Circle. She was dedicated to the loving care of family members who preceded her in death, including her parents, brothers, Marino, Anthony and Frank Jr., and sisters, Santina and Prudence.
She was preceded in death by many relatives and dear friends.
Mary is survived by a brother, Joseph; sister, Rose (John) Satariano; and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lottes and nurse Jodi, Higley Manor staff and Hospice of Mercy for their devoted care. The family also extends their appreciation to the many volunteers and friends who contributed to Mary's physical and spiritual needs.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations for masses or to Mercy Medical Center and Hospice of Mercy.
