Mary Patricia Hoy
MARY PATRICIA HOY Cedar Rapids Mary Patricia Hoy, 61, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Mary was born May 15, 1954, to Bernard Michael Hoy and Patricia Ann (Davis) Hoy. She grew up in a family with six other siblings. Mary traveled extensively and settled in California. She returned to Cedar Rapids in 2000 and pursued an education in health care. Mary received a degree in health information technologies and certificates for licensed practical nurse and phlebotomy from Kirkwood Com-munity College. Surviving are her daughter, Heather (Hoy) Hodkins; grandchildren, Hannah and Nathan Cleveland; brothers, Michael, William and Peter; and sisters, Margaret and Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deborah Williams. Mary was a loving daughter, sister and mother. She enjoyed her home, gardening and cat companions. Her pride and strength will be greatly missed. A private service will be held in the future.
