Mary C. Noel, 87, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Tim Schoepf officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus or the charity of your choice.
Mary was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Iowa City, the daughter of Samuel and Aneita Carney York. On Sept. 11, 1948, Mary married N. Keith Noel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Mary and Keith owned and operated Noel Tree Service for over 30 years.
Mary is survived by her six sons, Gary (Nancy) Noel of Iowa City, Mike (Rhonda) Noel of Richland, Pat (Lucy) Noel of Columbus Junction, David "Randy" (Deb) Noel of Iowa City, Rick (Margo) Noel of Riverside and Greg Noel of North Liberty; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, James York of North Liberty; and nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her granddaughter, Melissa; daughters-in-law, Bonnie S. Noel and Nancy (Greg) Noel; her brother, Samuel; and her sisters, Minnie Roth, Julia Collinson and Marcella Van Dorpe.
