Mary L. Perdue, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mary was born July 6, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Jack and Marion (Clark) Thompson. Mary graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968. She later graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) in 1972. She served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany with the linguistic division until 1976.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly and Katrina; brother, John “Jack” (Sandra) Thompson; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Linda Merrifield, brother-in-law James Merrifield, as well as her aunts, uncles, and multiple fur babies.
