MARY LOUISE "MARY LOU" BUCHANAN

Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Buchanan, 93, lifelong resident of Iowa City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Solon Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Iowa City, with Father Steve Witt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Salvation Army.
Mary Lou is survived by her three nieces, Judy Moore, Heather Smith and Joanne Hopkins; her three nephews, James Carroll, William Carroll and Scott Buchanan; and a cousin, Barbara Laughlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents, Carl and Margaret Strohmeyer; and her brother, Richard Strohmeyer.
