MARY LOU WEYANT
Center Point
Mary Lou Weyant, 82, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the Center Point United Methodist Church at 275 Green St. West in Center Point. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church at 316 Vine St. in Center Point. Burial will take place at the Center Point Cemetery.
Mary was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Fayette, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Buelah (Smith) Buhman. She graduated from Fayette Consolidated. On Aug. 9, 1957, Mary was united in marriage to Wilfred "Whitey" Weyant in Fayette. Mary worked in foodservice at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 13 years. Most of her life was spent being a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Center Point, and her faith was very important to her. She loved to spend time with her family and she enjoyed sharing recipes and homemaking skills with her grandkids. Mary will be greatly missed by her husband, family, and the friends she made through her life journey.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Whitey Weyant; children, Ann (Dan) Estabrook, Sherri (Kevin) Squires and Tom (Jesse) Weyant; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Betty Streeter and Galen Buhman; and her son, Tim.
