Mary Lou Stadtmiller, 73, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Feb. 5, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with service to follow at 6 p.m. Livestream link: https://iframe.dacast.comb/

Mary Lou Penrod was born June 4, 1948, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Elnora (Dibler) Penrod. She was a 1967 graduate of Postville High School. On Oct. 24, 1970, Mary was united in marriage to Gene Stadtmiller. She was a member of Cedar Rapids Grace Church, where she was a leader for the women's group and helped organize various activities. Mary enjoyed time with family and friends and her trips to Arizona in the winter. She also enjoyed working on the computer creating greeting cards for family and friends and reading. Mary spent her time volunteering for the American Cancer Society, arranging rides for people with cancer. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Gene; son, Paul (Misty) of Cedar Rapids; brother, Robert (Patty) Penrod of Postville, Iowa; sister, Shirley (Dennis) Ford of Aiken, S.C.; mother, Elnora Penrod of Waukon, Iowa; three grandsons, Chase, Chance and Cadence of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don (JoAnn); and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her dad, R.T. (Bob) Penrod; and brother, Floyd Penrod.
