Mary Lou (Cover) Crowe
MARY LOU CROWE
Riverside, Calif.
Mary Lou (Cover) Crowe was born to parents Donald and Fern Cover in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She enjoyed playing the alto saxophone in the Roosevelt High School Band, orchestra, marching and, dance band.
At the Eastern Iowa Band Festival in 1951, Mary Lou was named Hostess for Roosevelt High School in the parade of 35 bands from Eastern Iowa.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in January 1952. In 1955 she moved to Riverside, Calif., and started work at Riverside Press Enterprise newspaper.
Mary Lou met and married Clifford Crowe in 1956. They both worked at the Press while Clifford obtained his B.A. at University California, Riverside.
From 1960 thru 1964, they lived in Mainz, Germany, and Austin, Texas, as Cliff obtained his Master's in German.
Returning to Riverside in 1964 until they moved to Tehachapi, Calif., in 1972.
In 1982 they returned to Riverside and opened their own business named Crowe Printing.
Many times, Mary Lou and Clifford got to dance to big band orchestras. They had 55 years of music together.
Mary Lou's younger brother, Douglas (Margie) Cover passed away suddenly in December 2019.
Mary Lou will be interned in the wall with Clifford at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.
She is survived by niece, nephew, grandnephews and many cousins.
